Pioneers of the British funk sound and hailing from north London 'Hi Tension' started out as 'Hot Waxx in the early 70's.Released in 1978 on 'Island Records' this was one of their biggest hits although they didn't get much recognition in the U.S.The band split in the early 80's with keyboard player/lead vocalist 'David Joseph' going solo and getting success certainly with the 'Larry Levan' produced "You can't hide your love" which was massive in the 'Paradise Garage'.
